More about the Associated SC18…
November 10th, 2009 . by Jeff HoyRC Driver, issue 73 (Jan 2010), page 120. Tony Phalen has a two page preview of the SC18. He’s pretty excited about it and there is definitely a hint that it will be out before Christmas but no price point as of yet. Hopefully less than $200.
There’s quite a few differences between the SC18 platform and the RC18 beyond the switch to belt drives and revised steering. The chassis is 15mm longer, the battery has been swapped to the left side, there’s a new battery strap with a new style of hold down, and the belt drive is completely sealed. It looks like you’re going to have a big selection of paint schemes to choose from, seven different bodies are shown in the article.
If you’re an RC Driver subscriber you should have the issue now or within a couple days. It should be on the newsstand in about two to three weeks. I’m not going to scan the article, get the magazine when it’s available.
