Short course getting big…

Thundertech was the first to announce a short course truck with their still unreleased CORR licensed Pro-2 in 1/10 scale, which I’m planning to review as soon as I get my kit in the mail. Then Traxxas came along with an electric Pro-2 and a nitro Pro-4 both in 1/10. Now Associated has released a 1/8 scale Pro-4 truck based on their RC8 buggy. Here’s a video of it in action.
How long must we (and by “we”, I mean “I”) suffer the high-pitched, angry bee sound of two-stroke engines? Four-strokers have existed in the r/c plane world for years and years, and they sound much, much better. And seeing as the engines they’re stuffing in 1/8 scale buggies, truggies, and monster trucks are getting bigger and bigger, isn’t it about time somebody crammed a four-stroke in one of them and sold it? It’s not just the mess and smell that turned me off from nitro, mainly it was the noise. Yes, I’m an electric fanboy and I’m extremely happy about the electric renaissance that’s taking place right now. But enough of my pointless whining.
The SC8 is frickin’ awesome. I may have to buy one and do a brushless conversion on it.
