2010 Predictions

Five predictions for the coming year.

Gran Turismo 5 will be the highest rated/best reviewed video game of 2010.
Team Losi will introduce a real pure-bred racing follow-up to the XXX/XXX-T series.
Redeye w/Greg Gutfeld will surpass The O’Reilly Factor in the cable news ratings race.
The only thing I see in the movie theater in 2010 will be another RiffTrax Live performance.

Really Ars? Really…?

In an article on the Ars gaming blog, Opposable Thumbs, titled Let’s talk about sex… in video games the author drops this question in the third paragraph of the intro.
But why do people in the game industry get so upset about anything sexual appearing in games, especially when there is so much gratuitous violence permeating [...]

Japan gets all the cool stuff… jerks…

3D Dot Game Heroes better be making the trip over the Pacific.  The more I see of it the more I’m sure it would be a zero day purchase for me.
Here’s the first trailer for the game.  The screenshots are great, but just don’t do it justice.  Watch the video then those of you that [...]

9.9.99

A day that will live in video game history.  September 9th, 1999, the launch of Sega’s last console, the Dreamcast.  I still remember that day, meeting my friend in the parking lot of the local mall at an ungodly early hour of the morning, long before sunrise, just to be the first in line.  My [...]

First Impression & Final Thoughts: Smash Cars (PS3/PSN)

Smash Cars is another attempt at a r/c racing video game mash-up.  Just one of many.  People have been drawing comparisons between this and Re-Volt since it was announced.  ReVolt for all it’s flaws was a pretty fun racing game.  Smash Cars with all it’s flaws is only a passable racing game.
Graphically it is very nice [...]
