The Newell Speaks again
Posted on Thursday, October 11th, 2007 at 2:35 pm by Jeff HoySo Gabe Newell obviously hates the PS3, he thinks it’s a “a waste of everybody’s time.” Except for The Orange Box coming soon to the PS3 of which he thinks PS3 owners “are going to be happy with their game experience.” So the PS3 is a waste of time, unless we’re playing Valve games on it.
Physics accelerators are a waste of time too, as were GPUs. Basically if it can’t be done on a single processor, in a single thread, Gabe doesn’t want to work on it from the sound of this interview. Something tells me that Gabe isn’t the leading guy behind the technology being developed by Valve.
